LineBreak is a poetry generating webpage composed from the first few lines of nine different texts. Selected for their influence upon my artistic process, the texts have been broken into fifteen different slideshows, looping though consecutive fragments of texts from each of the sources. Read from top to bottom, the jumbled lines create a chance-operation poem. The source texts are: Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, Advocacy After Bhopal by Kim Fortun, The Gospel of Thomas, Image | Music | Text by Roland Barthes, Malone Dies by Samuel Beckett, Sense of Place and Sense of Planet by Ursula Heise, Anil’s Ghost by Michael Ondaatje, A World Lit Only by Fire by William Manchester, and Art Objects by Jeanette Winterson.
